Eat (2005), about a bizarre fam-
ily's Passover seder, boasts a stellar
cast of Jewish actors, including Jack
Klugman, Lesley Ann Warren,
Ben Feldman and Michael
Lerner. But it tries to be a comedy
and a drama, and it doesn't work as
either. Still, it has its moments, and
the cast alone is worth a rental fee.
Safe Men (1998) is a comedy
about two dolts who get mistaken for

insist Stoker's novel was anti-Semitic.
Indeed, Tod Browning's film version of
1931 featured Bela Lugosi as the count
wearing a Star of David on his chest.
In 1987, this LugoSi-based figure of
Dracula appeared on a General Mills
Count Chocula cereal box, inspiring
some outrage.)

The German-Jewish comedy Go

Dani Levy, dominated the 2005
German film prizes, picking up six
Lolas, including Best Picture. Mixing
slapstick humor and sharply drawn
social satire, it portrays a dysfunc-
tional Jewish family from opposite
sides of the Berlin Wall. [1,
