Apples And Honey

JCC program ushers in the fall holiday season.

shering in a sweet New Year involves dozens and dozens of apples, at least for
the Jewish Community Center of Washtenaw County Apples and Honey, a cel-
ebration that honors Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Simchat Torah,
attracted more than 700 participants Sept. 17 to the Center.
Each year, this program brings the community together for children's activities, enter-
tainment, a petting zoo, Israeli food, kosher baked goods, Judaica gifts from local syna-
gogue gift shops — and the chance to learn about local Jewish organizations and the
upcoming holidays.
Apples and honey, symbols of a sweet new year, were provided by Hiller's Market.
Participants loved the event. "It was fantastic," said Mira Sussman of Ann Arbor.
"There were lots of activities for kids," said Robbie Stern of Ann Arbor. "We stayed
until closing. It was great:' E
