He is a volunteer for the Friendship
Circle in West Bloomfield.

Jacob Louis Kushner will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitz-
vah Saturday,
Sept. 16, at
Congregation
B'nai Moshe.
He is the son
of Rebecca and
Steven Kushner
and brother of
Kushner
Jillian. He is the
grandson of Sally and the late Sol
Kushner, Ara and Arthur Storer and
Joel Robinson.
Jacob is a student at Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. For one of his
mitzvah projects, he volunteered at
Southfield-based JARC.

Jessica Haley Miller, daughter of
Margo Ivriller and Randall Miller and
sister of Amanda,
will celebrate
her bat mitzvah
Saturday, Sept.
16, at Temple
Israel. Her
grandparents are
Janet and Henry
Miller
Moses and Elaine
and Sheldon Miller of Orchard Lake.
Jessica attends Bloomfield Hills
Middle School. Her most rewarding
mitzvah project was making blankets
for foster children with the National
Council of Jewish Women.

Laurel Meredith Ruza will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitz:
vah Saturday,
Sept. 16, at
Congregation
Shaarey Zedek
Southfield. She
is the daughter of
Sandra and T.J.
Ruza and sister
Ruza
of Matthew and
Nicole. Sharing in the joy will be
grandparents Miryam and Jack Gun
and Harriet Ruza. Her proud great-
grandmother is Anne Goldstein. She
is also the great-grandchild of the
late Max Goldstein and the late Yetta
and Phillip Shiener.
Laurel is a student at Orchard
Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield. Her most meaningful
mitzvah project was volunteering
at the Fleischman Residence in
West Bloomfield, assisting in special
events with the residents.
