the Torah as a bat mitzvah Saturday,
Sept. 16, at
Congregation
Beth Shalom.
She is the daugh-
ter of Joel and
Michelle Bronstein
of Farmington Hills
and sister of Ryan.

Proud grandparents
are Esther and Howard Davidow of West
Bloomfield and Madeline and Martin
Bronstein of Oak Park.
Ashley is an eighth-grade student
at O.E. Dunckel Middle School in
Farmington Hills. Her favorite mitz-
vah project was working with spe-
cial friends on a weekly basis at the
Friendship Circle in West Bloomfield.

Madison Jordyn Chaness will
read from the Torah on the occasion
of her bat mitzvah
at Temple Israel,
Saturday, Sept. 16.
Her parents are
Shelley and Neil
Chaness. She is
the sister of Bret
and Taylor and the
Chaness
grandchild of Enid
and Fred Chaness, Millie Wish and the
late Ben Wish.
Madison attends Walled Lake Middle
School. She participated in the Chain
of Memory project sponsored by the
United States Holocaust Museum and
felt this was especially meaningful as a
mitzvah project.

of Stefani, was
called to the Torah
as a bar mitzvah
Saturday, Sept. 9,
at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek
West Bloomfield
Chudnow
B'nai Israel
Center. Sharing in
the simchah were his grandparents Joel
and Betsy Cohen and Mandel and Toby
Chudnow.
Josh is a student at Orchard Lake
Middle School in West Bloomfield. As a
part of his mitzvah project, he gave an
in-depth lecture on America's lighthous-
es to residents at Fleischman Residence
in West Bloomfield.

Danielle Erin Durnion was called
to the Torah as a bat mitzvah Saturday,
Sept. 9, at Temple Emanu-El. She
is the daughter of Audrey and Steve
Durnion and sister of Emily. Proud
grandparents are Ilene and Marvin

Delidow and Jean
Durnion.
Danielle is a stu-
dent at Keller Middle
School in Royal Oak.
She felt her most
meaningful mitzvah
project was working

with the children at
the Temple Emanu-El summer camp.

Rebecca Janeen Garfinkel will cel-
ebrate her bat mitzvah Friday, Sept. 15,
at Temple Israel.
She is the daughter
of Lori and Kenneth
Garfinkel and the
sister of Sydney,
Max and Sophia,
with whom she will
share the bimah. Her

Nate Garfinkel.
Rebecca attends West Hills Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills. Her most
meaningful mitzvah project was col-
lecting books for Einstein School in
Oak Park through the Detroit Jewish
Coalition for Literacy.

Sophia Joy Garfinkel will celebrate
her bat mitzvah Friday, Sept. 15, at
Temple Israel. She
is the daughter of
Lori and Kenneth
Garfinkel and the
sister of Sydney,
Max and Rebecca,
with whom she will
share the bimah. Her

Koppenhofer and the late Mildred and
Nate Garfinkel.
Sophia attends West Hills Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills. Her most
meaningful mitzvah project involved
several projects with Mazon, the hunger
relief fund.

Macauley Grant Harris was called
to the bimah for his bar mitzvah
Saturday, Sept. 9,
at Temple Kol
Ami. He is the son
of Michele Harris
and Jim Harris.
Sharing in the special
day were his sister

aunt and uncle Mary
and Steven Sclawy.
He is the grandson of the late Irving and
the late Mollie Sclawy, the late Milton
and the late Louise Harris.
