"New York, September 11 by Magnum Photographers," which will be shown through Oct. 11 at the down- town library, features 35 images on 27 large canvas panels. Most of the pictures were taken on 9-11 by a group of professionals rep- resented by the Magnum agency, but there also are scenes showing the Twin Towers before the destruction. The exhibit images, which have been adapted into a book, first appeared at the New York Historical Society. Visitors to the touring display will have a chance to express their thoughts in a book being maintained by the library. The pictures take on momentum through additional events. Guy Sanville, artistic director of the Purple Rose Theatre Company, and Quintessa Gallinat, Purple Rose program manager, will be featured in a staged reading of The Guys, Ann Nelson's drama about 9-11. The the- ater piece is about a fireman who lost his crew and the writer who helps him with the eulogies. Dr. Marilyn Rosenthal, whose son Josh Allen Rosenthal died in the attack, is part of a panel discussion,"Five Years Ago: 9-11 Survivors and Families," at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20. Dr. Rosenthal, whose primary research interests are in comparative health care systems and physician self- regulation, is a professor, medical soci- ologist and director of the Program in Health Policy Studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
