Metro DIGEST At The Shul Rosh HaShanah Services Are Really Serious. And Seriously Warm and Friend Seriously. R Gravesite Visits Temple Israel's Robert Sosnick Family Life Center will host its annual program "Kever Avot: The Graves of Our Ancestors" Sunday, Sept. 17, sponsored by Ira Kaufman Chapel in Southfield. Just before Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, volunteers accompany residents of area assisted-liv- ing facilities to local cemeteries — keeping with the Jewish custom of visiting the gravesites of loved ones at this time. Golf carts are made available in those cases where the gravesites are otherwise difficult to access. Air-conditioned tour buses with bathrooms are hired; and stones, tissues, flowers, lunches, hand wipes and prayer booklets are pre- pared.
