Temple Kol Ami hosts a 'fantastic' first beach party. he skies may have looked threat- ening and there were a few periods of drizzling rain during Temple Kol Ami's first beach party, but the West Bloomfield synagogue's personal weather man, Kol Ami member and WDIV-TV meteorologist Paul Gross, was true to his promise of no thunderstorms or heavy downpours. "The day kicked off with a high-energy concert by Cantor Kat Hastings, who had the entire audience singing along to Beatles tunes and more," Gross said. Following lunch, everybody headed outside for fun and games, with songs from the Beach Boys provided by D.J. Chuck Freedman. "Kat's concert was awesome, and I was especially happy to see so many kids hay- ing a blast:' said event chair Cynthia Katz. "It was such a fantastic day!"
