He is survived by his wife for
52 years, Myrna Segal Kolin of
West Bloomfield; son and daugh-
ter-in-law, David Franklin Kolin
and Jeannine Cordeo of Chicago;
daughters and sons-in-law, Dr.
Myra Kolin Harper and Ted Harper
of Bloomfield Hills, Marjorie
Kolin Kanner and Nevin Kanner
of West Bloomfield; grandchil-
dren, Katharine and Yale Kolin,
Sarah and Haley Harper, Cameron
Kanner; brother-in-law and sister-
in-law Merton and Beverly Segal.

ALA S. LEHMANN, 99, of
Clinton Township, died Aug. 25,
2006. She
was raised in
Switzerland. In
the late 1920s,
her mother
took the family
to live in Paris
and Ala decided
to go into the
fashion busi-
ness, working in
fashion houses.
She married and, during the war,
moved to Nice, finally crossing the
border to Switzerland, where she
continued to work in the fashion
world. After the war, she returned
to Paris, where she settled with
her husband, who was an agent for
artists. When he died, she decided
on a move to the United States
and she settled in the Detroit area,
working for the Walton Pierce
Company as a dress designer. She
also took classes in sculpture and
started a French-speaking club.
Mrs. Lehmann was a member and
volunteer for Hadassah and the
Detroit Institute of Arts. She was
belonged to the Health Club at the
Obituaries on page 84
