ossi Benjamin of Yossi's
Israeli Cuisine will host a
casual evening of appe-
tizers, soft drinks and music inside
and outside his West Bloomfield
restaurant on Thursday, Sept. 7.
The cost per person is $20.
Twenty percent of that, or $4,
will be donated equally between
Friends of the Israel Defense Forces
and the One Family Fund. This
emergency appeal is in response
to the charities' requests for urgent
funds to help cover the financial
burdens incurred by families
because of military and civil-
ian deaths and injuries during
Hezbollah's war against Israel.
"The latest round of fighting
may be over, but the wounded, the
widows and the orphans remain.
Between One Family Fund and
Friends of the IDF, both civilians
and soldiers will receive charity
from this event:' said Ashley Israel,
a leader of One Family Fund's
Michigan chapter.
Additional donations payable
to the charities will be accepted at
the event and forwarded. The event
also is a chance to express solidar-
ity with Israel and to meet socially
to discuss the problems besetting
Israel and how best to resolve them.
One Family Fund provides medi-
cal, legal and financial support to
all victims of terror. The Friends of
the IDF provides the same support
to active soldiers and their families.
"We are all targets of terrorism,
but these people are on the front
lines helping to keep us a little
safer:' Ashley Israel said. "We must
continue to support them when-
ever the need arises, to boost their
morale as well as to provide for
their physical needs.
"Now is a critical time in the his-
tory of the Jewish state."
Seating capacity at Yossi's is lim-
ited, especially if the weather is
