t's been nearly a month since the
214 participants of Federation's
Teen Mission to Israel have
returned home, but their enthusiasm,
dedication and commitment to Israel
continue to live on. Evidence was seen
at a Dance-A-Thon reunion held Aug.
22 at Fountain Walk in Novi.
More than 150 teens attended the
event, which raised an estimated
$5,000 for the Israel Emergency
Fund being conducted by the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.
Since their return home, the teens
have been playing active roles in

a Teen Mission committee, which
planned two fundraisers so far,
including the one at Fountain Walk in
Novi. The admission fee was a mini-
mum $18 contribution, but raffle tick-
ets were given out to participants for
every additional $18 raised. There was
food, dancing and a picture slideshow.
The teens enjoyed catching up with
friends and counselors from the trip.
"We are so lucky that, as teens, we
could come together to raise money
for Israel and have fun doing it,"
said Andrea Rottman, 17, of West
Bloomfield.
