ed-hot Ferraris served as the centerpiece for a flashy party
where the word "sleek" could be used to describe both the
sports cars and the crowd. More than 600 people attended
the third annual "Ferrari on the Rox"— a hip and trendy event at The
Reserve banquet hall at Big Rock Chophouse in Birmingham.
"We come out in droves. for the auto show;" said organizer Tony
Fayne of Birmingham."' wanted this to be a more fashionable auto
experience'
A DI and live percussionist played hip-shaking techno music while
partygoers checked out six different Ferraris worth S200,000-$400,000
each. Tama liquor set up an ice bar with pomegranate-flavored drinks.
Guests also were treated to a chic fashion show by
Dolce Moda in Royal Oak. The models made a wild
entrance on Mopeds before stalking around the cat-
walk. Another attraction was an oxygen bar set up by
The Display Group in Detroit. People took turns breath-
ing in scented air — a form of aromatherapy.
"lt's uplifting; there are scents like ocean breeze or
coconut:' Payne said.lt really makes you feel differ-
ently."
In addition to food, cocktails and mingling, th(
Robin
bash also included the unveiling of a sculpture called
Schwartz
"Poetry and Truth" by artist John Sauve of Brighton.

The modern stainless-steel creation is the first piece of
permanent sculpture in Birmingham in 20 years. The
piece is one of R) sculptures in a series called "Man in the City," located
in different cities around the country. Fayne said the unveiling was all
part of the big happening.
"We wanted people to feel like they were on vacation for an evening,"
said Fayne."Maybe in some other city like Las Vegas, New York, Miami
or Chicago."
Plans are already in the works for next year's "Ferrari on the Rox.'
Organizers have their sights set on Ford Field in Detroit. Sponsors for
this year's event included Caulev Ferrari, Pama liquor, After 5 Detroit,
Dolce Moda and The Display Group.
