Q : My mother died at I1:30 p.m.
Her death certificate states her time of
death as 1:30 a.m. the following day. I
would like her headstone to reflect the
date she stopped breathing, not.when a
. doctor came and pronounced her dead.
Is this a problem?

A: The legal date and time of death

are based upon when she was
pronounced dead, which was after
midnight. We can certainly call the
cemetery to advise them of your wish.
