Other Jewish artists showing work in
Ann Arbor include city resident Esther
Kirschenbaum, who works with metal;
Burton Isenstein and Nancy Gardner,
of Illinois, who focus on ceramics; Gael
and Howard Silverblatt, of Florida,
who concentrate on cloisonne and
gold; Aaron Macsai, of Illinois, who
forges jewelry; Grant Silverstein, of
Pennsylvania, who does etchings; and
Yorman Gal, of Israel, who paints real-
istic scenes.
As these artists are showing their
work, some half-million visitors can try
foods from around the world, see art-
ists' demonstrations, watch entertainers
and participate in special activities.

Richard Adler says. "When I
looked through written sources,
I found some contradictions
and tried to clear those up. I
interviewed people I knew, and I
checked old newspapers."
With this project finished,
Richard Adler has two others
in mind, and both have to do
with baseball. One involves two
people who have been prominent
in sports, and the other details
the 1913 World Series.
Ruth Adler appreciates the
collaboration.
"Since I'm away at college for
most of the year, I was glad to
have something important to do
together with my dad," she says.
"I also think it is important to look
at the past because that is essential
in predicting what can happen in the
future." L
