nswer: Dear Brenda, Vir-
tually all of us go through
some "backsliding" when
we're trying to adopt new/bet-
ter lifestyle behaviors. I find that
one of the best ways to get "back
on track" is to implement action
steps that can help re-energize me
towards achieving my goals.
Here's some steps that might help:
• Remind yourself that change is
an ongoing. process, not just
a destination;
• Regularly revisit and refine
your nutritional plans and
goals;
,-
)• Reorganize your kitchen
) to best reflect your new,
healthier food choices;
• Give yourself a "get
out of jail" card, i.e.,
/ indulge that craving (in
moderation) and then go
right back to your healthier
behaviors — it will give you confi-
dence that you're "in control";
/,
• Practice your label-reading skills
— stay away from processed
foods and bring home more fresh
and ortzanic foods; and
• Cook healthy and with love for
your family and friends.
You've been successful in the past
— you can do it!

until
Barb,
recently, I had

better food
choices and
cooking (healthier) more than ever
before. Lately, I seem to be slip-
ping into my old, not-so-healthy
ways. Can you help?! Brenda.
