his research
examining the biological effects of
bone morphogenic proteins on oral
cancer cells. He is completing his first
year of dental school at the University
of Michigan.
Dustin Feldman of West Bloomfield
earned the degree of doctor of
osteopathic medicine from Chicago
College of Osteopathgic Medicine of
Midwestern University in Downers
Grove, Ill. He will begin an internal
medicine residency at Providence
Hospital in Southfield. Feldman is the
son of Dr. Barry and Leslie Feldman.

of Hadassah
at an annual
installation
dinner, which

year in Detroit. The 2006-2007 execu-

Berl Falbaum, Detroit journal-
ist, has won a 2006 Independent
Publisher Book Award for Shanghai
Remembered ... Stories of Jews
Who Escaped to Shanghai from
Nazi Europe. The book was one of
three national finalists in the history
category.
Dan Kelmenson, a West Bloomfield
High School graduate, will be a partici-
pant in the summer student program
at the Jackson Laboratory in Maine. He

will carry out an independent research
project on the role of tumor stem
cells and natural stem cells in brain
development. Kelmenson will enter his
senior year at Dartmouth College in
Connecticut in the fall.

Project Award
from the Israel
Bloom
on Campos
Coalition, for
planning and implementing the cele-
bration of the Michigan-Israel Alliance:
an education and advocacy initiative.
As a result of the initiative, the state of
Michigan is exploring a trade mission
to Israel and sister-city relationships.
Forman, Kaufman, Epstein
Joan Epstein installed officers and
board members of the Greater Detroit
Chapter of Hadassah's Tikvah Group
at its June 6 luncheon. Sue Kaufman
and Miriam Forman will serves
as co-presidents. Elected to serve
one-year terms on the board are

Pauline Katz, Barbara Charlip,
Linda Sherr, Nancy Jonas, Sherri
