SEYMOUR FABER, 79, of West
Bloomfield, died July 3,2006. He is
survived by his
beloved wife,

He was the dear husband of the late
Helen Gilman; brother of the late
Arthur Faber and the late Marvin
Faber.
Interment at the Hebrew Memorial
Park Cemetery. Contributions may be

Center, to Yad Ezra or to the Southern
Poverty Law Center. Arrangements by

THELMA (GREENBERG)
FELDHEIM, 84, former Detroiter
of Delray Beach, Fla., died June 21,
2006. She was a devoted wife, mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was active in, and most recently,
the past president of the Huntington
Woods Haddasah Chapter, Delray
Beach.
Mrs. Feldheim is survived by her
husband of 64 years, Alex Feldheim;
son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and
Ellen Feldheim of Cleveland, Tenn.,
and their children, Jodi (Rami) and
Greg; son and daughter-in-law, David
and Andrea Feldheim of Lafayette
Hill, Pa., and their children, Suzanne
and Jonathan; son and daughter-in-
law, Stuart and Beverly Feldheim of
West Bloomfield; and their children,
Shannon, Adam, Daniel, Nick and
Kim; great-grandchildren, Jordan and
Tami.

Cemetery, North Lauderdale, Fla.
DR. NELSON GANTZ, 64, former
Detroiter of Boulder, Colo., died June
20,2006. He was a physician, author,
clinical researcher, lecturer and edu-
cator. Dr. Gantz, a nationally known
infectious disease specialist, received
a bachelor of science degree from
Wayne State University in 1963, a doc-
tor of medicine degree in 1967 from
the Wayne State University Medical
School, and completed his internship
at Henry Ford Hospital, with addition-
al training at the Harvard Hospitals in
Boston. His residency was at Boston
City Hospital with additional train-
ing in infectious disease at Peter Bent
Brigham Hospital.
Dr. Gantz was renowned for his
work with patients suffering from
complicated and little understood
diseases. He was instrumental in
defining the critical case definition of
chronic fatigue syndrome and nation-
ally recognized for his contribution
in treating patients with West Nile
Virus during the major 2002 outbreak.
He was chairman of infectious dis-
ease at Boulder Community Hospital
since 2003. He was chairman of the
Department of Medicine and chair-
man of the Division of Infectious
Disease at the Pinnacle Health Center
in Harrisburg, Pa. from 1991 to
2002. Prior to that, he was a profes-
sor of medicine at the University
of Massachusetts Medical Center,
Worcester, Mass.
Dr. Gantz was
the author of
three books on
infectious dis-
ease including
Manual of Clinical
Problems in
Infectious Disease.
He also authored
Gantz
over 100 medical
journal articles
and contributed chapters on infec-
tious diseases to 81 medical books.
He was an avid runner, running a
minimum of four or more miles daily
and 10-plus on weekends; he also
completed 10 Boston Marathons.
Dr. Gantz is survived by his wife,
Dr. Roberta Gantz; daughter, Kim
of Boulder; son, David of Florida;
mother, Frances Elson of Southfield;
sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and
Gordon Ondrisek of Rochester Hills;
niece, Rebecca Keys of White Lake;
nephew, Jason (Kim) Keys of Dublin,
Ohio; their three children, Ryan,
Megan, and Allison; great-aunt and
uncle, Rosalyn and Howard Miller
of West Bloomfield; cousins, Arleen
and Donald Rochlen of Birmingham;
