DR. RAYMOND HENKIN,
79, of West Bloomfield, died
June 24, 2006. An internist, Dr.
Henkin graduated Baylor School
of Medicine at the age of 21. He
volunteered at Hadassah Hospital
in Jerusalem and was an Army vet-
eran of the Korean Conflict.
A Diplomate of American
College of Chest Physicians, he had
a Fellowship at the National Jewish
Hospital in Denver and was also
an associate professor of diagnos-
tics at Wayne State University. He
was also an active member of the
Sholem Aleichem Institute.
Dr. Henkin is survived by
his wife, Lela Henkin of West
Bloomfield; daughter and son-
in-law, Karen and Dr. Scott Arbit
of Milwaukee, Wis.; sons and
daughters-in-law, Eden and Susan
Henkin of Ann Arbor, Roger and
Sandy Henkin of Bloomfield Hills;
grandchildren, Joshua, David and
Rachel Arbit, Rose and Jonah
Henkin, David and Taylor Henkin;
sister, Fay Siegelman of San
Antonio, Texas; brothers-in-law
and sisters-in-law, Meyer and Clare
King, Yona Friedman, Izzy and
Marcia King.
Private interment. Contributions
may be made to Sholem Aleichem
Institute, 28690 Southfield Road,
#293, Lathrup Village, MI 48076
or a charity of one's choice.
