Southfield, died June 15, 2006.
He was the owner of Mid States
Aluminum Products, a manu-
facturer of aluminum windows.
He was also a member of Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
Mr. Axelrod is survived by his
sons and daughter-in-law, Dr.
Eugene and Charlene Axelrod of
Plymouth, Dr. Richard Axelrod
of California; daughter, Dr. Linda
Golumbia of West Bloomfield
and her fiance, Steve Goldner;
grandchildren, Dr. Robert and

For many years, she worked in
the registrar's office at Oakland

College
and was a
facilitator for
many writ-
ing groups
throughout
the com-
munity. An
active par-
ticipant of the Berkley
Institute of Gerontology at Wayne
State University, she was on the
Senior Advisory Board of the
city of Southfield, a member of
WAND and was staff emeritus of
Oakland Community College.
Mrs. Berkley is survived by

HERSH GOLDBERG, 83, for-
mer Detroiter of Boca Raton, Fla.,
died June 11, 2006. He was the
first recipient of the All Athlete
Award (nine letters) at Northern
High School and received an ath-
letic scholarship to the University
of Michigan; he graduated from
Wayne State University.
Mr. Goldberg was a first lieu-
tenant, bombardier/navigator in
World War II, flying 19 missions
overseas. He then spent 40 years
in the liquor business, harness
racing and produce industry.
Mr. Goldberg is survived by
his children, Joseph and Anita,
Harry and Debra, Dr. Susan and
Dr. Jason Goldberg-Feit, Ted,
Dr. Eric and Dr. Lisa Goldberg;
grandchildren, Joshua, Robin,
Darryl, Susan, Dr. Avery, Kim,

Ethan, Julianna. He was the
beloved husband for 51 years
