uring the Jewish
Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit's
annual meeting on June 14, execu-
tive director Mark Lit announced
that Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel
will open the JCC Book Fair in
November. The appearance is the
first of a "Distinguished Speaker's
Series," funded by a 550,000 grant
from an anonymous donor.
Karen Gordon and Jill Menuck
received the Susan Alterman
Leadership Award for their vol-
unteer activities; Jerry Wolberg
and Doris Weinberger Blechman
received the President's Award for
their board of director and execu-
tive committee activities.

were elected at the meeting held at
the Jewish Community Center in
West Bloomfield.
