GORDON KUSHNER, 94, of West
Bloomfield, died June 17, 2006. The
retired owner of Fitt-Well, a women's
shoe store on Michigan Avenue, he
was also a member of B'nai B'rith and
the Masons.
He is survived by his children, Gary
and Carol Kushner of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren, Lisa Kushner and her
fiance, Mark Sherman, Stefanie and
Jon Goldman; great-granddaughter,
Zoe Goldman. He
was the beloved
husband of the
late Ruth Kushner;
loving father of
the late Marvin
Leonard Kushner.

SEYMOUR MATENKY, 84, of
Southfield, died June 14, 2006.

Fowler; dear brother-in-law of the late
Edith Fowler, the late Leon Mischa
Schlinger; dear cousin of Anna Bunin.

LOIS LINDEN NELSON, 85, of
Bloomfield Hills, died June 17, 2006.
She was a graduate of Detroit Central
High School. She was an administra-
tive assistant at the Jewish Federation
of Metropolitan Detroit. She was also
a life member and past president of
Hadassah, a member of the Jewish

National Fund,
a life member
of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek
and a member of
its sisterhood.
She was known
for her abilities
as a cook and
Nelson
hostess. Last year marked three mile-
stones in her life: her 85th birthday,
her husband's 90th birthday and their
50th anniversary.
Mrs. Nelson is survived by her
husband, Harry L. Nelson; daughter
and son-in-law, Julie Nelson-Klein
and Jan Klein of West Bloomfield; son
and daughter-in-law, Linden D. and
Michelle Nelson of Bloomfield Hills;
grandchildren, Sandy and Arielle
Nelson; sister and brother-in-law,
Mikie and Gerald Freed of Ontario;
brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Saul
and Beverly Nusbaum, Sylvia Posner;
loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces,
great-nephews and cousins. She
was the beloved daughter of the late
Nathan and the late Ada Linden; lov-
ing sister of the late Victor H. Linden,
the late Naomi Kline; dear sister-in-
law of the late Ralph Posner and the
late Bernard Kline.
Interment at Clover Hill Park

DR. MAX WARREN, 87, of
Birmingham, died June 19, 2006. He
was a psychoanalyst in private prac-
tice in Birmingham.
He is survived by his life partner,
Anita Plous of Birmingham; daugh-
ters and a son-in-law, Rosalind
Warren of Cynwyd, Pa., and Diane
and Dr. Larry Blum of Cynwyd, Pa.;
Anita's children, Alyssa Martina and
Dr. Oren and Lora Plous; grandchil-
dren, Thomas Smith, Isaac Blum, Amy
Blum, Rafi Martina, Ari Martina and
Loren Plous; sister, Freda Kroll; sister-
in-law, Lucille Warren.
Private interment at Oakview
Cemetery. A memorial service will
be held 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 22,
at Birmingham Temple, 28611 West
12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills.
