Blueberries are a group of flower-
ing plants (shrubs, actually),
which, like bilberry, belong
to the genus vaccinium.
The plants range in size

Blueberries produce antioxidants
that are said to inhibit "free
radicals" (unpaired electrons) that
result from bodily "oxidation."
Free radicals are associated with
increased risk of cancer, heart
disease, and aging.

Blueberries have been linked to
fighting brain and motor function
deterioration, improved urinary
tract health and immune response,
and are thought to be anti-inflam-
matory. There's definitely a lot of
nutrition going on there.
