dat Shalom Synagogue
will conclude its first
year of SYNergy Shabbat
programming with a special
"Summer Send-off Weekend" June
16-17.
Activities begin at 5:30 p.m.
on Friday, June 16, with Shabbat
Shaboom, a musical service for
families with children through
second grade. A Shabbat picnic
dinner will follow at 6 p.m. There is
a dinner charge, and reservations
are required.
A Shabbat Rocks service is set
for 7 p.m. Child care with enter-
tainment will be offered 7-8:30
p.m.
Shabbat morning will be high-
lighted with gifts and blessings
from the Synagogue family for
Adat Shalom youth and teens going
off to camp or taking part in an
organized teen trip. Students will
be honored for service attendance,
participation in the Adat Shalom
youth choir and the Federation
Teen Mission.
Shabbat Morning will begin with
traditional services at 9 a.m. and a
Shtiebl Minyan Service at 9:30 a.m.
My Baby and Me will look at
"Enhancing Jewish Ritual in Your
Family's Life." This program for
new and expectant parents begins
at 10 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m., Rabbi Daniel
Nevins will discuss "Big Love? A
Jewish View of Polygamy."
Other Shabbat morning activi-
ties include:
• 10:30 a.m. — Yoga &
Yiddishkeit (wear yoga attire)
• 10:30 a.m. — "Be Torah!" cre-
ative dramatics for second graders
and older
The Youth Summer Send-Off
will take place in the main sanctu-
ary at 11:30 a.m., followed by an
enhanced Kiddush.
SYNergy co-chairs are
Carol Weintraub Fogel of West
Bloomfield, Gary Graff of Beverly
Hills and Barbara Kappy of
Orchard Lake.
Reservations are required for the
Shabbat picnic dinner, for which
there is a charge. Call the Adat
