of Southfield, died June 2, 2006. She
was an avid bridge player, competing
in tournaments around the United
States and achieving life master sta-
tus. She enjoyed travel and attended
the Elder Student Program and the
University of California Santa Cruz.
Mrs. Halperin was an ardent supporter
of the Democratic Party, played the
piano, taught horseback riding, was
active with the Royal Oak PTA and
volunteered with the Reading for the
Blind. In addition, she became a real
estate agent.
Mrs. Halperin is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Nan Halperin
and Michael Orloff of Georgia; son
and daughter-in-law, Dr. Eric and
Beatrice Halperin of Oregon; brother
and sister-in-law, Edward and Shirley
Gluklick of Southfield; sisters, Sylvia
Markel of Southfield, Fritzi Doroff of
Las Vegas; loving nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends. She was the dear
sister of the late Cecelia Schlussel, the
late Dorothy Madvin, the late Irving
Gluklick, the late Estelle Benach, the late
Frances Weiss and the late Ede Allender.

Alice. She was the loving wife for 66
years of the late Sam Lezell; sister-in-
law of the late Herbert Rosen; sister
