Elizabeth is a student at Yeshivat
Akiva in Southfield. Her mitzvah proj-
ects included visiting sick children at
Hadassah Hospital and Shaare Zedek
Hospital in Israel during Pesach, where
she distributed dolls and get well
cards.
Baroch Lipkind, son of Arna and
Reuven Lipkind of New York, for-
merly of Birmingham, celebrated his
bar mitzvah in Brooklyn on Monday,
June 5. He is the brother of Nechuma,
Esther, Shterna Rachel and Yehuda. He
is the grandson of Esther and Morry
Wexler of Boca Raton, Fla., and the late
Marcia Wexler.

called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah

Adam is a seventh-grade student
at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills. One of
his mitzvah projects was provid-
ing baseball equipment to field a
team for the Boys and Girls Club of
Southeastern Michigan, a youth devel-
opment organization.
Alyssa Hayle Minnix will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah
Saturday, June 10, at Congregation
Chaye Olam. She
is the daughter of
Hunter and Barbara
Minnix and the
granddaughter
of Stanford and
Helen Goldstein of
Wynnewood, Pa.
Alyssa is also the
Minnix
granddaughter of
the late Alan and
Maitland Minnix.
Alyssa is in the seventh grade at
Eton Academy in Birmingham. Her
most meaningful mitzvah project was
participating in the SPARK program,
where she had the opportunity to
spend time with seniors at the Jewish
Community Center.

read from the Torah as a bar mitzvah
at Temple Beth
El Saturday, June
