Alfred Taubman Jewish Community Campus in Oak Park had their own prom last week, courtesy of .the college students at local campuses served by Hillel of Metropolitan Detroit (HMD). A few high school students also got into the act at the Jewish Apartments & Services' first "senior prole While many resi- dents on the Eugene and Marcia Applebaum Campus in West Bloomfield have joined in tlw festivities for area elderly spon- sored for many years by West Bloomfield High School, this was the first similar event hosted by JA&S. Karen Adelman of HMD said the idea grew out of summer programming. A prom for college students who didn't attend their . own became a prom for seniors, sponsored by HMD's new Tzedek Committee: A grant helped to defray the cost of the disc jockey, who was also subsidized by Cloud 9 Special Events.
