Service Feeds Children
Yeshivas Darchei Torah will sponsor
the Summer Food Service Program
for Children. Free meals will be made
available to children 18 and younger or
persons up to age 26 who are enrolled
in an education program for the
mentally or physically disabled that is
recognized by a state or local public
educational agency.
The meals will be provided without
regard to race, color, national origin,
age, sex or disability. Meals will be
provided daily from Monday through
Friday. Lunch will be served from
noon-1 p.m. and snack will be served
from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
This program will run from July 3-
28. Meals will be available at Yeshivas
Darchei Torah, 21550 W. 12 Mile,
Southfield.

Jewish Family Service
Bloomfield Hills resident Amy
Hoffman Haimann has been nomi-
nated to a second term as president
of Jewish Family Service. The election
and installation
will take place at
the JFS annual
meeting 7 p.m.
Monday, June
5, at the Jewish
Community
Center in West
Bloomfield.
Haimann has
Amy Haimann
served on the JFS
board for more
than eight years. She has chaired the
JFS Human Resources Committee, and
served on the By-Laws and Strategic
Planning committees.
Also nominated to the JFS executive
committee are Sandra Danto, Lorne
Gold and Susan Leemaster, vice presi-
dents; Jennifer Silverman, secretary;
Jack Kaufman, treasurer; and Stephen
Harris, Mark Landau, Melissa Orley
Lax, and Irving Nusbaum, members
at large. Terran Leemis remains on the
executive committee as immediate
past president and nominating com-
mittee chair.
Nominated to first terms on the JFS
Board are Lisa Naftaly Brown, Wendy
Eisenshtadt, Richard Gibbs, David
Grant, Micki Grossman, Michael Roth,
Rose Lynn Schlussel and Judy Stern.
Nominated for renewed terms are
Carol Hooberman, Mark Landau, Susie
Leemaster and Patti Nemer.
The evening will begin with a des-
sert reception and will include a pre-
sentation to Dr. Steven P. Dunn, Robert
H. Naftaly and Dr. Douglas R. Woll for

their work on the Jewish community's
"clinic without walls," known as Project
Chessed:
The annual meeting is open to
the public, and there is no charge.

AJCommittee Centennial
The American Jewish Committee
Metropolitan Detroit Chapter will
celebrate the National AJC's centennial
anniversary 7 p.m. Monday, June 19,
during the chapter's annual meeting at
Temple Shir Shalom, West Bloomfield.
Following a brief business meeting
and chapter elections, a program will
feature Jeffrey Sinensky, AJC's director
of public policy and legal affairs. He
will summarize key legal battles fought
by AJC over the last 100 years.
The program is open to the com-
munity. A kosher dessert reception will
follow and there is a charge of $20. For

B'nai B'rith Golf Classic
B'nai B'rith's annual Golf Classic will
be held June 5 at Wabeek Country
Club, Bloomfield Hills. It will honor
Alan H. Barry, COO of Masco
Corporation. Proceeds will benefit
B'nai B'rith's youth serving agencies.
Co-chairs are Michael Fishman, Ron
Bittker and David Lubin. Cost is $250
($225 for ages 35 and younger). The
event includes 18 holes of golf, locker
room facilities, complimentary range
balls, a buffet brunch, refreshments
and kosher hot dogs, snacks and bev-
erages on the course, all followed by an
open bar, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and
dinner.
There will also be live and silent
auctions.

Hillel Events

Hillel of Metro Detroit is sponsoring
two events on consecutive Sundays.
At 11 a.m. June 4, "Bagels, Lox and
Torah!" will be held at Heritage Park
in Farmington Hills. RSVP by Friday,
June 2.
At 6:30 p.m. June 11, HMD will
attend Wicked at Masonic Temple,
Detroit. Tickets are $35 and RSVPs are
due Thursday, June 1.
