annual Visions of Hope,
the organization's major
gifts fund-raiser, honored two ORT
supporters and provided the Detroit
community with a Debbie Friedman
concert. The event culminated a year-
long effort to raise $350,000 for ORT's
global education network.
ORT supporters for 40 years,
honorees Rochelle and Dr. Arthur
Lieberman of Bloomfield Hills dem-
onstrated their commitment to ORT
by contributing to the Hermelin
ORT Resource Center's Better Job
Opportunities Project (BJO). The BJO
Project will reach out to underem-
ployed Detroiters and provide them
with skills to improve their chances to
keep their current job or find a better
one. Michigan has the highest unem-
ployment rate in the U.S.
