'Never Again'

The state Holocaust commemoration April 26 drew a record number
of survivors to a ceremony in the Capitol rotunda in Lansing. The 95
survivors were escorted by members of Boy Scout Troop 364 from Adat
Shalom Synagogue in Farmington Hills. State Rep. Andrew Meisner,
D-Ferndale, hosted this year's program, "Legacies of Justice,' honor-
ing those who testified during the trials of Nazi war criminals. Howard
Wallach of Farmington Hills told his story of being a son of a survivor
who continued until death to scream out in anguish during the nights.
Twelve legislators participated in a candle-lighting ceremony, kindling six
candles in memory of the 6 million Jews killed during the Holocaust and
reading biographies of local survi-

Aronson Bash

On May 3, Israel Independence Day, the Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit held a fund-raiser in honor of Robert Aronson's
18th year leading the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.
A strolling dinner and cocktails were followed by a program hon-
oring Aronson, who also spoke to the more than 500 attending the
sold-out function. Shown are Rabbi Harold Loss of Temple Israel, Jane
Sherman of Franklin, Rabbi E.B. "Bunny" and Shaindy Freedman of
