She was a graduate of Girls High School, a member of Hadassah and a life member of Ahavath Achim Synagogue and its sisterhood where she sang in the choir for many years. Mrs. Rosenfeld is survived by her children, Charles and Ann Marie Rosenfeld, Dallas, Texas, Nikki and Aaron Krawitz, Columbia, Mo., Raymond Rosenfeld and Janelle McCammon of Bloomfield Hills; sister, Happy Kersh of Atlanta; grand- children, Evan and Audra Rosenfeld, Scott and Amalie Rosenfeld, Jason Rosenfeld, Adam Krawitz, Bryn Rosenfeld, and Seth Rosenfeld; very special niece, Jill Kersh; nieces and nephew, Shelly Colin, Robert Rosenfeld and Vivian Green. LEONARD MYRON SALLE, 69, former Detroiter of California, died May 5, 2006. He graduated from Mumford High in 1954 and Wayne State University in 1959 as a civil engi- neer. He moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1960 and worked in exec- utive positions in engineering design Salle and construction firms. He advocated incorporating public input into major public and private engineering projects and created one of the first heritage tree ordinances in California. Mr. Salle was president of the Santa Clara County Engineers and Architects Association (AFL-CIO), a fellow in the American Society of Civil Engineers and a charter member of the Association of Environmental Professionals in California. In 2001, he co-founded and served as president of the Commonweal Institute, a think tank that seeks to maximize the visibility and the power of progressive ideas and values, promoting fundamental American ideals of community, responsibility, and fairness. He dem- onstrated skill as a classical pianist. Mr. Salle is survived by his wife of 16 years, Katherine Alden Forrest; sons, William F. Salle and Stephen K. Salle; stepsons, Eric John Finseth and Ian Frederick Finseth; brother, Donald Arthur Salle; sister-in-law, Adele Salle; six grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the Leonard M.
