Harvey Disner

does not consider himself a
philanthropist. Yet the founder and president of Detroit
Auto Brokers felt compelled to do something a little
extra after he was asked to sell a donated van to
benefit Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network.

After working hard to get the best price possible for the
vehicle, Harvey donated his own commission to JHCN.
"This organization is doing great work for terminally ill
people," Harvey explained. "So when the opportunity
to do something good presented itself, I decided to do
it. This was my chance to do a mitzvah."

ALAN HALE JACOBS, 52, for-
mer Detroiter of Stratford in central
California, died May 14, 2006.
He is survived by his sister, Roselyn
Schrage (Harold); brother, A. Ross
(Michelle) Jacobs; nephews Andrew
(Rowena) and Matthew Schrage,
Justin Jacobs; niece, Hailey Schrage,
all of Los Angeles. He was the dear
son of the late Herman Donald and
the late Frances Jacobs; brother of the
late Joel Jacobs.
Interment at Eden Memorial Park

SEAN M. PETTIBONE, 29, for-
merly of Troy of Ann Arbor, died
April 20, 2006. He was a teacher, a
musician and a writer. .
Mr. Pettibone is survived by his
parents, Cindy (Geffen) and Michael;
sister, Kelly; grandparents Nori
(Geffen) and Dan Braude; uncles and
aunts, Bill and Jane, Heidi Geffen and
Brad and Geri Geffen; many loving
cousins.

GERALD R. KOWALSKY, 68, of
West Bloomfield, died May 8, 2006.
He is survived by his son and
daughter-in-law, Jeff and Alysa
Kowalsky of West Bloomfield; daugh-

dren, Chloe and Carly Kowalsky,
Spencer and Jordan Schork, Lauren
and Isabella Anderson. He was the
beloved husband of the late Judy
Kowalsky.
