Beth Shalom Names
New Spiritual Leader

Rabbi Daniel M. Wolpe has been
named rabbi of Congregation Beth
Shalom in Oak Park. He comes
from the Southwest Orlando Jewish
Congregation, which he has served
since 1999. He succeeds Rabbi David
Nelson, Beth Shalom's rabbi since
1972. Rabbi Nelson will assume the
.position of rabbi emeritus.
In Orlando, Rabbi-Wolpe developed
healing services, English services,
psycho-dramatic services and themed
services. He was involved in children's
and adult
education and
served as an
adjunct profes-
sor at Rollins
College in
Orlando, where
he taught class-
es on Jewish life
and thought.
Rabbi Wolpe
is a graduate
Rabbi Wolpe
of New York
University and
the Jewish
Theological
Seminary in New York. He served
as rabbinic intern at the Kane
Street Synagogue in Brooklyn and
Temple Beth Am in Los Angeles and
as associate rabbi at B'nai Torah
Congregation in Boca Raton.
Rabbi Wolpe is married and has
three children. He is a produced play-
wright in the United States and Israel.

Adat Shalom Honors

The Adat Shalom family will honor its
confirmation and graduation classes
of 2006 at Nosh 'n Drash Shabbat on
Friday evening, May 19.
The evening will begin with a Shabbat
Rocks Kabbalat Shabbat service fol-
lowed by a Shabbat family dinner. The
confirmation program is endowed by
the Knopper Family in memory of
Judith Lowe Knopper.
This year's confirmands are Jordan
Bachar, Sarah Hepner, Shoshana
Hirschhorn, Danielle Hoberman,
Brian Indianer, Todd Jaffe, Max Jensen,
Michael Margolis, Becca Portney,
