AJCommittee Honorees
The American Jewish Committee
Metropolitan Detroit Chapter will
present its 2006 Jewish Community
Service Award to Barbara and Michael
Kratchman at a dinner June 6 at the
Bloomfield Hills home of Bluma and
Robert Schechter.

are active in the
Jewish commu-
nity, state political
campaigns and the
interests of Metro
Detroit.

served as execu-
tive director of
the Michigan Council for the Arts in
the Blanchard administration. She is
president of ArtServe Michigan.
Michael Kratchman, a practicing
lawyer for more than 40 years, is a
published author on mediation issues
and a law school instructor. He is
employed by UBS Financial Services
Inc. and has served as Kadima's presi-
dent since 2004.
The evening's speakers are Detroit
artist Tyree Guyton and his wife,
Jenenne Whitfield. Co-chairs include
Barbara and Gary Eisenberg, Judy
and Irwin Elson, Nancy and James
Grosfeld, Bluma and Robert Schechter
and Marjory and Josh Yaker.

Annual Meeting. Announced
The Women's Campaign and
Education Department of the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit
will hold its annual meeting and
brunch 10 a.m..Thursday, May 18, at
the Jewish Community Center in West
Bloomfield.
Officers and members of the
Women's Board will be elected and
installed. Completing her two-year
term as president, Sandra Schwartz
will be recognized for outstanding
service.
Incoming officers are president,
Susie Pappas; campaign vice president,

Susie Citrin; education vice presidents
Joan Chernoff Epstein, Lori Garon,
Amy Schlussel and Leah Trosh; cor-
responding secretary, Cookie Gonik;
recording secretary, Mindy Soble;
designates to Federation's Board of
Governors, Nancy Glass Kanat and
Abbe Binder Sherbin.
Tickets are $25 and include a kosher

Sisterhood Installation
Temple Israel Sisterhood's annual
installation will be 11: 30 a.m. Monday,
May 22.
Following luncheon, there will be
a musical program featuring Cantor
Michael Smolash and Cantorial Soloist
Neil Michaels. The day is sponsored
by the Helen S. Tobias and Charles E
Tobias Memorial Fund. -
Laurie Blinder will be installed for
her second year as president. Other
officers include Lynn Apel, Barbara
Szirtes, Sharie Gladner, Julie Stern,
vice presidents; Susan Kaplan, trea-
surer; Deborah Schiffer, corresponding
secretary; Denise Shuster, recording
secretary; Elissa Kline, financial secre-
tary; Eileen Isenberg, immediate past
president.
Board members to be installed
for a two-year term are Renee Bean,
Barbara Ben, Allison Berlin, Natalie
