W

hen Ashley Nathan was in
the first grade, her family
moved from Huntington
Woods to West Bloomfield. On her first
day of school, an adorable, friendly face
made her feel right at home. Aviva Berlin
was the first person to talk to Ashley, and
the Bloomfield Hills Andover High School
seniors have been great friends ever since.
To cap off all their school years together,
Ashley, 18, and Aviva, 17, recruited two
more buddies — Brett Satovsky, 18, a
senior at Andover, and Robbi Unatin, 18,
a senior at West Bloomfield High School
— to pose in the smartest Prom 2006
styles for Platinum magazine.

Prom Chic

How to be a prom princess — or prince?
Here, the hot trends for Prom 2006:

• flowing, feminine frocks,

either floor or tea length

• go retro with ruffled tiers,

drop waists and flirty miniskirts

• delicate, strappy sandals

• all that glitters — rhinestones,

beads and lots of gold

• for the boys: long ties, lots of color

and the sexiest accessory of all —

good manners!

After all the years of bar and bat mitz-
vahs (Ashley, Brett and Robbie at Temple
Israel and Aviva at Congregation Beth
Ahm), camp (Walden for Ashley, Brett
and Robbie) and crushes (Ashley had a
major one on Brett throughout most of
elementary school), the group will bid a
fond farewell as they head off to college
— Ashley will attend Eastern Michigan
University and Aviva will go to University
of Michigan, while Brett and Robbie both
will attend Michigan State University.
Here, they have a final pre-prom hurrah.
Bon voyage! Special thanks to makeup
artist Robin Kovacs from the Beauty
Lounge in West Bloomfield. ❑
