Dennis and Ellen Laffer of Tampa, Fla.;
grandchildren, Matthew, Justin, Jenny
and Lauren Laffer. She was the beloved
wife for 59 years of the late Allan
Laffer; devoted sister of the late Evelyn
Weinstein.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

MARION LEIB, 88, of Commerce
Township, died April 26, 2006. She
was the owner of Leib Shoes on 7 Mile
Road. A past
president of
Aviva Hadassah
in Florida, she
received the
Woman of
Valour Award
in 1997. She
also received
the David Ben-
Leib
Gurion Award
for lifetime
service to Israel
from B'nai Torah Congregation and
the South County Florida 1984 Jewish
Federation Award and was active with
ZOA and B'nai B'rith, both in Florida
and Detroit. Mrs. Leib co-chaired the
Balfour celebration concert. Also, she
was a board member of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek Sisterhood and the
Goldettes (Boca Raton Masonic
Women's Division). She planted a
10,000-tree forest in Israel.
Mrs. Leib is survived by her hus-
band of 63 years, Dr. Sidney Leib
of Commerce Township; daughters
and sons-in-law, Adela and Jack
Weisman of West Bloomfield, Ida
and Louis Goutman of Commerce
Township; grandchildren, Adam and
Fawn Chayet, Amy and Brian Shapiro,
Stephen Goutman, Julie Goutman and
her fiance, Todd Lee, Rachel Goutman
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to Congregation Shaarey Zedek,
27375 Bell Road, Southfield, MI 48034.
