TEENS/THE SCENE

D

ozens of teenage
members of Michigan
Region BBYO rocked
the catwalk — strutting. their
stuff in a spring fashion show .
where they were the featured
models. The teens, ages 14-17,
showed off the latest looks in
sportswear, casual wear and -
dressy attire during "Fashion
Unleashed," a fund-raiser for the
West Bloomfield-based B'nai
B'rith Youth Organization. The
March 4 event, held at 30 North
in Pontiac, helped raise about
$13,000 for the Jewish youth-led

organization.
"It was actually a lot of fun,"
said Geoff Horowitz, 17, of West
Bloomfield.
He was one of 20 boys and 25
girls who worked the runway
during the show. Horowitz, a
junior at the Jewish Academy
of Metropolitan Detroit in West
Bloomfield, modeled clothes
from TWC Surf and Sport in
Keego Harbor.
"Most of us have crazy person-
alities," he said. "We were show-
ing off the clothes and showing
off ourselves, which most of us
love to do."
The show also featured
some of the hottest looks- from

Moosejaw in Birmingham, Guy's
N' Gals in West Bloomfield and
the Shirt Box in Farmington
Hills. Accessories and jew-
elry were provided by Tappers
Diamonds & Fine Jewelry and
Fashion Divas, both in West
Bloomfield, and Roland Optics
in Southfield. Tropical-themed
silk shirts, camouflage and retro
looks were some of the spring
trends for the boys. Baby doll
tops with straight leg jeans,
skirts of all lengths, belts and
layered necklaces were among
the popular looks for girls.
"I think it was a little more
glamorous for the girls:' said
