The film also starred little-known actors like Rebecca De Mornay, Joe Pantoliano, Bronson Pinchot and Curtis Armstrong. But Cruise's true co-star was the Porsche 928, which gave an almost Oscar-worthy performance as an aquarium. Without that waterlogged car, which was the Porsche to drive in 1983 when the movie was filmed, there was no reason for Cruise's character Joel Goodson to open his brothel. So, 26 years later, I scrounged up a pair of Ray-Bans, an unlit cigarette and drove the Porsche to drive in 2006 — the brand-new Porsche Cayman S. Can I just say that if I ever win Lotto, this is the first thing I will buy on the way home from the accountant. Yes, it's fast; yes, it's comfortable; and yes, it has an awesome stereo system — but who needs music when you have the roar of a 3.4 liter, 295 horsepower, F6 engine that reaches from zero to 100 mph in 11.7 seconds?
