residents from the Kadima homes.
It gives me great joy to watch the
residents participate in the mitzvah
of telling the Pesach story."

What is it about the
kitchen that keeps you
so passionate about the
culinary arts?
"My mom says that I was in the
kitchen at the age of 2. There are
no limits when it comes to cooking.
You can take a recipe and change it
infinitely by adding a pinch of this
or a dash of that. Cooking lets me
be creative. I love to eat as much
as I love to cook. Not only do I love
cooking, but I also love to watch the
faces of the people that are enjoy-
ing my culinary talents:'

What is the absolute
favorite dish that you
came up with and what
are some of the key
ingredients?
"I like making soups because of all
the different varieties of ingredients
available such as split peas, barley_
and lots of different root vegetables.
My favorites are working with the
spices that make each soup so
unusual. Making soup is one of my
responsibilities at work so it bridges
the home to the workplace'

How has overcoming a
neurological disorder
toughened and chal-
lenged you?
"My parents have always given me
the opportunity to reach for the
highest star knowing that I may
have to work twice as hard, but that
extra effort makes you appreciate
the results even more. When I was
in college, there was some question
as to my abilities to become a chef.
I'm proud that I persevered and
proved them wrong. Twenty years
later in the field, I have shown that
I could achieve my goals and do
what I loved most."
