obbie Roth, who visited Detroit
as a youngster competing in
hockey tournaments, is return-
ing to the city as composer and co-lyri-
cist of a show for youngsters. He will be
watching the touring company of Barbie
Live in Fairytopia, which will be per-
formed April 5-9 at the Fox Theatre.
Roth, working with scriptwriter and
lyricist Susan Di Lallo; came up with 24
different pieces of music for the produc-
tion based on the direct-to-video movie

The storyline turns Barbie into the
character Elina in a fantasyland where
she wishes she could fly as others do.
