The Lester J. Morris Hillel Jewish Student Center at Michigan State University invites you to join us at our Inaugural Tribute Gala How To Choose A Life Coach Once you've decided.to try life coaching, the next step is finding the right coach. Here are some tips, gathered from a variety of sources, on how to choose the coach to best help you achieve your goals: • Choose someone who has a master's degree or.higher and is licensed in counseling, therapy or social work. • Because the industry is unregulated, ask aboutlhe coach's experience in the field, and look for someone who does this as a full-time profes- sion, not a sideline or hobby. • Whenever possible, get rec- ommendations from friends, business associates or other professionals. • Don't base your choice strictly on cost. Fees for life coaching can vary greatly, and you may have to pay more for someone who has the experi- ence and expertise you need. Think of it as an investment in yourself and your future. • Schedule preliminary inter- views with the coaches you are considering before making a final decision. Some coaches offer a free consultation or sample session. • Before meeting a prospective coach, clarify what you want to achieve and which style of coaching will best help you accomplish that.
