"Lay people took it and adapted the logo and concept of giving music a higher priority in synagogue thought," Cantor Berris said. "As with the Chasidim, music allows those not as knowledgeable in the more academic areas to be more spiritual and active in Jewish life." Following Havdalah, B'nai Moshe's new family band, made up of parents and children, gave its inaugural per- formance at the event. The Klezmaniacs, a local Klezmer band, also performed. Uri Segal led spirited Israeli dancing. The majority of the 100 or so par- ticipants came from B'nai Moshe and Congregation Beth Ahm. Members from both synagogues have been spearheading the program. United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism's Members of the B'nai Moshe family band include Doron Berris of Farmington Hills, Penina Rubin and Laura Katsnelson, both of West Bloomfield. • Dine-in or Carry-out • Senior Citizen Discount 10% (not good on specials) ME liam h.......„ 111rS 26200 W. 12 Mile Rd.
