is the son of
Diane and
Randy Orley

and brother of
Amanda and
Sam Orley. Also sharing in the won-
derful occasion will be his proud
grandparents Eve Kaplan and Dr. and
Mrs. Norman Kaplan of Dallas, Texas,
and Sally and Graham Orley.
George is a student at Cranbrook
Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. He
feels that one of his most meaningful
mitzvah projects will be, in lieu of
gifts from his friends, that contribu-
tions be made to Mazon: A Jewish
Response to Hunger.

Erica Jennifer Shur, daughter of
Michelle and Robert Shur and sister of
Matthew, will
read from the
Torah as she
celebrates her
bat mitzvah
Friday, March
10, at Temple
Emanu El.
She is the
Shur
grandchild of
Thomas
Nessel, the late Esther Nessel and the
late Joseph and the late Florence Shur.
Erica attends Dunckel Middle
School in Farmington Hills. Her most
meaningful mitzvah project was vol-
unteering at the Temple Emanu-El
summer day camp.

the Torah as a bar mitzvah Saturday,
March 11, at Temple Emanu El. Alex

Sydney. He is
the grandson
of Hope
Steinberg and
Bill and Celia

Steinberg and
the late Sheldon and the late Audrey
Richie.
Alex is a student at Norup Middle
School in Oak Park. His most mean-
ingful mitzvah project was working
with boys at a residential home for
abused and neglected boys who are
wards of the state.

Michael Scott Zausmer, son of Laura
and Mark Zausmer, will read from the

bar mitzvah at
Temple Israel

10. He is the
brother of
Nicole and
Jessica. His
proud
grand-
Zausmer
parents are
Martha and Larry Paul and Gail and
Jack Krueger. He is also the grandchild
of the late Norman Alan Zausmer.
Attending Abbott Middle School in
West Bloomfield, Michael packed
boxes at Gleaners Food Bank during
Thanksgiving and felt this was an
important mitzvah project.
