Uzbek Leader Dies

Moscow/JTA — Jewish officials in
the former Soviet Union appealed to
Uzbek authorities to investigate the
death of the country's Jewish leader.
Rabbi Avraham Yagudayev, 33, died
Feb. 25 of injuries from a "road acci-
dent',' authorities say. He was found
unconscious on a road near his syn-
agogue.
