She was a profes- sor of English Literature at Wayne State University and Henry Ford Community College. She tutored immigrants in Weisenthal English. She was active in making the 10 Mile JCC accessible to all and donated a family changing room for the pool. She was a member of Huntington Woods Citizens for Peace and many Jewish philanthropic organizations as well as many liberal causes including Peace NOW, the Democratic Party and ACLU. Just this year, she sponsored a high school essay contest promoting peace. She was also active with Humanistic Movement and the Audubon Society. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca Weisenthal and Michael Cataldo of North Carolina, Sara Jane Weisenthal of New York; son, Zack Weisenthal of California; grandson, Nathan Samuel Cataldo; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah Balter and Dr. Larry Goldschlager of Florida; and sisters- in-law, Mona Rappaport and Shirley Goodman. Mrs. Weisenthal was the beloved wife of the late Lee Avery Weisenthal and the dear sister-in-law of the late Daniel J. Rappaport and the late Arthur Goodman. Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial Park. MARIAN WESSON, 84, of California, formerly of Detroit, passed away Feb. 13, 2006. SHERWIN ZAMLER, 44, of Beverly Hills, died peacefully at home Feb. 21, 2006, after a two- year battle with brain cancer. He was an attor- ney at Dawda, Mann, Mulcahy and Sadler, Zamler specializing in envi- ronmental law. Born in Detroit, he lived in Beverly Hills for 41 years, attending Bingham Farms Elementary, Berkshire Junior High and Groves High School. Through those years, he began his lifelong pursuit of making friends and making music — and was described as a master of both. A man of many strong passions, including a skill at making pizza and soup, he showed no limits in his love and devotion for his family. After mar- rying his high school sweetheart, Monica Bisignano, and graduating from Oakland University and Detroit College of Law, he settled within walking dis- tance of his siblings, and close by his stepfather, stepsister and in-laws.
