Bais Chabad Pre-Purim

Celebration!

omen and girls in all sorts of festive costumes got
into the spirit of Purim early at a Rosh Chodesh
Adar pre-Purim party Feb. 27 at Sara Tugman Bais
Chabad Torah Center in West Bloomfield. The holiday officially
begins at sundown the evening of Monday, March 13.
The second annual pre-Purim party was held for members
of the Torah Center and of ER.E.E. (Friends of Refugees of
Eastern Europe). About 30 people attended the celebration,
themed "Dance Your Feet Off."
Highlights of the evening were a discussion about the Purim
and the strength of the Jewish people when united as well as
the power of the Jewish woman, a costume contest and hamen-
taschen baking. Ruth Goodman, owner of Sara's Deli, made the
dough and coordinated the rolling, filling and pinching of the
cookies that were taken home by participants at the end of the
evening.
Anat Nachshoni, music teacher at Yeshivat Akiva in
Southfield, led the live music and dancing portion of the
evening. Along with refreshments a packet of Purim recipes
were provided.
