PHILIP SCHEER, 87, of West
Bloomfield, died Feb. 14, 2006.
He was a veteran of the Army Air
Corps, having served in World
War II. He was also a co-owner of
Scheer's Ace Hardware in Oak
Park, which he ran with his
younger brother, Martin.
He is survived by his wife,

HERBERT LEONARD
SCHREIBER, 78, of Burlington,
Ontario, Canada, died Feb. 12,
2006. He received a degree in
industrial engineering from the
University of Michigan and then
pursued post-graduate studies in
engineering and law, eventually
becoming a registered profes-
sional engineer in Ontario.
Immigrating to Ontario from
Michigan in 1953, he began
Schreiber Roofing. Later he
returned to Michigan to take
control of Schreiber Corp. of
Detroit. He then become a found-
ing director and the third presi-
dent of the Canadian Roofing
Contractors Association and a
director of National Bank of
Detroit-Canada, now Bank One.
For his contributions to the pro-
fession, Mr. Schreiber was
inducted into the Hamilton
Construction Hall of Fame.
His interest in education led
Mr. Schreiber to found and
become president of the
Construction Trades Orientation
Programme at Mohawk College.
Some of the many volunteer
activities that received his partic-
ipation are the Art Gallery of
Ontario, the Hamilton
Philharmonic Orchestra and the
friends of Temple Anshe Sholom
Foundation.
Mr. Schrieber and his wife
established the Herb and CeCe
Schreiber Family Foundation in
