ing of the documentary and a
PowerPoint presentation; created by
the Arts of Citizenship Program at the
University of Michigan. The
PowerPoint goes into further detail on
the process that created the play, along
with information on the historical
roots of Abraham and more.
A one-hour interactive dialogue on
prejudice, stereotyping and other
issues raised in the play follows.
In addition, the sponsoring group
receives a DVD of the documentary
and an educational CD of the entire
program, which includes communica-
tions guidelines and materials for
guided meditation and prayer. Also,
facilitators will present a workshop on
one of four related topics at a later
date.
Important Message
As audience members enter the Kirk
in the Hills on March 4, they'll be
greeted by 6-foot-tall information
panels — also designed by members of
the Arts of Citizenship Program at U-
M with funding from the Michigan
Humanities Council — on the play and
its message.
Among the members of the U-M
program is sophomore Miriam
Liebman, who was in the original
Children of Abraham cast in 2004.
Also part of the March 4 show are
the Reuniting the Children of Abraham
video and PowerPoint presentation,
followed by a facilitated discussion
and reception.
"Our members are looking forward
to meeting members of other spiritual
communities," said Dr. Norman
Pritchard, Kirk in the Hills pastor.
"The three faiths have a common
ancestor in Abraham!"
The young people of the Mosaic
Youth Theater worked through their
differences to find common ground.
The goal of the new video is to give
other children of Abraham, in other
communities, the chance to do the
same.
Reuniting the Children of
Abraham, a multimedia pro-
duction, takes place 7 p.m.
Saturday, March 4, at Kirk in
the Hills, 1340 Long Lake
Road, Bloomfield Hills.
