Grant Aids Archive

The Voice/Vision Holocaust Survivor
Oral History Archive at the University of
Michigan-Dearborn has received a
$25,000 grant from the Conference on
Jewish Material Claims Against
Germany to assist with the transcrip-
tion of .the archive's recorded interviews
with survivors.
Jamie L. Wraight is curator and histo-
rian of the Voice/Vision Archive. It con-
tains 229 taped interviews with
Holocaust survivors, but only 70 of
those have been transcribed. At the cur-
rent rate of about 15 transcriptions per
year, it would take nearly 11 years to
complete the 159 interviews waiting to
be transcribed. The grant will enable 36
interview transcriptions each year.
The interview transcripts are avail-
able for use through interlibrary loan,
the archive's Web site at http://holo-
caust.umd.umich.edu and community
outreach activities.

CAJE Grant Program

The Coalition for the Advanceinent of
Jewish Education is inviting applica-
tions for its grants program for innova-
tive educational programs. A total of
$2,500 will be awarded for the 2006-
2007 academic year and winning pro-
posals, upon review, may be renewable
for up to one additional year.
An independent jury will review pro-
posals and recommend grant awards to
the CAJE Board. Proposals will be
judged on the merit of the idea, creativ-
ity, the number of people served, the
depth of Jewish content and the poten-
tial for replication.
Applications will be accepted only
from current CAJE members and only
one proposal per member may be sub-
mitted.
All proposals for 2006-2007 CAJE
grants must be postmarked no later
than April 13. Grant awards will be
announced by June 30. Projects funded
by a one-year grant must be completed
by June 30, 2007. For details, visit
www.caje.org or call CAJE, (212) 268-
