He served in World War II in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Iowa, where he began his love of the sea. Soon after graduation from Wayne State University with a degree in pharmacy, he moved to California and practiced for 55 years. Mr. Bartick is survived by his loving wife, Muriel; daughters, Linda Brookman (Daniel), Debbie Elwood; son, Michael Bartick (Gina); sisters, Helen Lutz, Irene Haynes; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchil- dren.
