emember when your kid
brother was the most annoying
human being on the face of the
planet? He got into your comic books,
stole your candy, told your parents you
tried to flush the hamster down the toi-
let. Could you have imagined anything
more awful than one day going into
business — with him?
Andrew, 20, and Ryan Landau, 17, are
brothers with a different past; they're
now in business together, and they're
crazy about the whole thing. They're
also very active in the Jewish communi-
ty and are encouraging other young
men and women to do the same.
The two grew up in West Bloomfield,
the sons of Mark and Debbie Landau -
who, they say, were "instrumental in
giving us the framework for who we are
today"
Ryan is a senior at the Jewish
Academy of Metropolitan Detroit and
will attend Michigan State University in
the fall. He serves in the school's stu-
dent government and is active with
JAMD sports. Andrew is a junior at the

University of Michigan, where he is
majoring in political science. He is pres-
ident of the Jewish Resource Center and
enjoys doing community service in Ann
Arbor.
Ryan and Andrew also own and
operate Carnival Extravaganza LLC, a
full-service concession catering compa-
ny.

What's it like being in business
with your brother, and how do
you manage having a business
and being in school?
Andrew: "Working together with

Ryan, we have developed a wonderful
relationship based on respect, mutual
understanding and openness. I cherish
the opportunity to work with my busi-
ness partner, brother and best friend!'
Ryan: "There is nothing better than
being in business with a sibling. Being
raised with the same values, philoso-
phies and outlook on life have been
assets in our partnership. Being busy
with school and trying to run a suc-
cessful business only makes me work
