Suzanne Chessler Special to the Jewish News ar Lubovitch, in the year before celebrating the 40th anniversary of his own dance company, has choreo- graphed a piece to celebrate the founder of the first troupe he saw on stage. Recordare, which communi- cates the spirit of an annual Mexican festival, honors the late Mexican-born dancer Jose Limon and ultimately the Jose Limon Dance Company, which performs L NT the piece during its Jan. 13-15 appearance at the Power Center in Ann Arbor. The program is sponsored by the University Musical Society "The piece is based on the Day of the Dead, one of the highlights of the year in Mexico," explains Lubovitch, 63, who has developed dance sequences for ballet corn- panics, Broadway productions, films, television programs and ice shows.
